Winners of Smart Axiata’s Leadership Project were awarded with 2-month internship in Malaysia

Three ParagonIU students completed their two-month internship in Malaysia which was a part of the SmartEDU USDP program launched by Smart Axiata. Vireak Kunthy, Chandevipha Hourn, and Priyanith Keo were members of an 8-member team. This opportunity was awarded to them after they won the $1800-dollar leadership competition in which they were challenged to use their innovative ideas to reduce the cost of Smart Axiata’s high call traffic and also find ways to manage cost-effective calls using both existing and new digital solutions.

Two of them shared their impressions about their internship abroad. Kunthy excitedly told ParagonIU that, “Life is unexpected! I thought my first internship experience would be in a small company in Cambodia as I did not expect that much at first. However, life keeps giving surprises to me. I interned in one of the biggest corporations, which is Axiata, in Malaysia with the Smart USDP program. I found out a lot about myself and what I wanted to do in life with that priceless experience. Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next surprise that I will get from life. I would like to sincerely thank Smart and Paragon International University for giving me such a valuable gift during my bachelor’s degree journey.”

When asked about how this internship had impacted her life, Vipha said, “My internship with Axiata Group in Malaysia was incredibly amazing as I had the privilege to work independently and professionally with people from diverse backgrounds in the workplace. With this opportunity, I discovered my own passion. And now with this precious experience, I believe that I am more than ready to embark on my next journey. I wish to thank the Smart USDP Program for making my summer break one of my most inspirational memories.”
