Paragon International University's students rank 1st place in CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge 2017

Paragon International University, Panharith Leang and Keanghok Lay, won this year National level of CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge with a net gain of 21.66% on their stock portfolio. This achievement has also marked the 4th consecutive year that our students placed number 1 in this competition since 2014. 

CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge is a regional stock trading competition that offers real time trading experience across five major stock challenges, Bursa Malaysia, Indonesia Stock Exchange, Singapore Exchange, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This unique competition is open to undergraduates in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, and Brunei. 

During the first round of this competition, student teams were given a virtual cash of $80,000 to trade in the five major market mentioned above. 

Amongst the top 10 teams in the Cambodia National Round, five teams are ZamanU students, and they are: 

a.     Potatoes Team (Panharith Leang and Keanghok Lay) won 1st place. 

b.     The Gravity (Boramey Siek and Ching Ing Taing) won the 3rd place

c.     Saiko (Sarunnaline and Menghout Hean) won the 4th place

d.     The Children (Tharith Soeun, Mounen Meas, and Virakbuth Seng) won the 8th place

e.     Hello World (Vitou Phy and Sokhom Pov) won the 9th place

 

“This is a great achievement,” said Dr. Sok Udom Deth, Rector of Paragon International University. “Competing against other 120 teams in Cambodia, our students make us proud. It is in our mission to help our students to reach their highest potential. Competitions like this allow our students to employ the trading techniques that they have learned in class in real life trading simulation, which enrich their undergraduate experiences.”
