On May 27th, 2015, junior year Civil Engineering students departed from Phnom Penh airport for a technical trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The world’s unique multipurpose tunneling project was the first stop of the trip for the students, where they were introduced with the details of the project. Serving both for the traffic and the storm water, the tunnel is an engineering masterpiece.
Group’s next stop was the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project – the biggest infrastructure project ever held in Malaysia. It is part of the metro transportation in KL that is projected through both underground and above ground. Mr. Marcus Karakashian, expert on tunneling metro transportation, shared his experience with the students during the visit. We express our deepest appreciation to the teams of both projects for their warm hospitality.
