Proficiency Exam

The medium of instruction at Paragon International University is English. Therefore, all students who are interested in studying at Paragon International University are required to take Paragon International University Proficiency Exam to prove that they will be able to follow and understand lectures well in their majors.

Paragon International University is committed to helping all our students succeed in the programs of study they pursue here. We know that English language proficiency is a critical component of that success for students whose first language is not English. By giving this exam to incoming students, we can identify specific areas in which an individual student may need additional English language study in order to be successful.

The Proficiency Exam consists of four basic sections and designed according to B2 difficulty level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and taken twice a year:

Students with B2 level can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization, can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party, can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options (for more information: Click here).

The Proficiency Exam takes about 150 minutes.
